Don’t Call Me Amazon - WWF Europe
The day we pissed off Brazil's former president, Jair Bolsonaro, until we had our campaign shut down under death threats.
The "Amazon of Europe" is considered an example of preservation and good care. Its Brazilian sister? Not that much. Which means that associating a highly preserved region with a region that is being destroyed is not currently a compliment. With that in mind, WWF Hungary created a campaign to raise funds to help the recovery of the Amazon Forest and, thus, one day, recover the pride of being called “The Amazon of Europe” again.
#Don’tCallMeAmazon is a global task force led by WWF Hungary that involves five European WWF offices responsible for the Mura-drava-Danube region, also called “the Amazon of Europe” to protect the largest existing ecosystem in the world from destruction.
